I'm a fan of both Live and Collective Soul, but I have to say that Collective Soul took the prize last night. Their sound was well-balanced and tight while Live was too heavy on the bass and seemed somewhat out of synch. Then there is the issue of the setlist, very poorly chosen in my opinion. Collective Soul played all of the songs that people know and love, with a few new songs thrown in. Live, on the other hand, had about 8 songs in a row that were NOT big hits by any stretch, which is when some people started leaving. The encore ALMOST made it worth staying to the end. I've seen Live in the past and enjoyed them, but this time they didn't live up to my expectations. |
