I was pumped. The venue was small the stage was about 20 feet long. Ed came out and he had a beard and he was growing out his hair. He wore a black skull cap. I was happy because it seemed like 2000/2001. Then they started playing. They sucked. Ed and Chad were so stoned it was ridiculous (If you deny this you are a fool). 15 songs. Maybe I missed one. I give them credit. 2/3 through they snapped to life and busted out. Chad was his old self. Ed is moving around the stage like he was when he was hanging out with Duritz. The crowd was so bad they did not come back. I'm going back tommorrow in AC. Im willing to chalk this up as "guys night out" where they got stoned without the wives. Im hoping tomorrow is a drunk show where they play a little longer. |

I love Live and thought that considering the crappy venue and some real jerks in the audience, they played a great show. Although I am a hometown girl, I had never been to Sonar. When I walked in my first thought was - Why are Live playing in this really small, horrible club when Ram's Head Live is much nicer and in a far better area in the Inner Harbor area? Or how about the Hippodrome or Lyric theatre! I was embarressed to think people had come from out of town to this hole and thought it representative of the city and that they would leave thinking all Baltimoreans were low life animals. Please guys come back to town again, but please try a nicer area. My group and I had waited outside for several hours to be up front and had a great view of these wonderful guys and thought they sounded great. The setlist was different then what seems typical for most Live shows. There were definitely some important songs missing. Anyway - the guys looked great, Ed wore a beenie, but you could tell there was some hair under there and he had grown a beard. He said the beard was because he thought it would be cold. It wasn't, it had rained heavily most of the day (thank God it stopped)and the temp. was in the mid to upper 60's. Pretty pleasant unless you are under hot lights and in a small room with a thousand other people. Thanks to the band for sticking with us and delivering a terrific show, your music has touched me and helped changed me in so may ways. Next stop Atlantic City House Of Blues, I couldn't wait to see them there the next night. |

I am a huge LIVE fan, and I had only seen them once before this concert. I am not sure how to rate this concert. It wasn't the best, but it was Live so it didn't matter. The venue was not fit for a band as well known as Live. The should have played Ram's Head. Venue aside, I thought the show was great. The fans I met in the crowd were as nice as ever, some came as far as Kansas City. While it didn't seem like the band got into the show as much as they had when I saw them previously, they still played well. I thought it was awesome thet they did Beauty of Gray, it's one of my favorites and apparently they dont do it as often as other songs. All in all, it was great to see them from the front row, and my next stop is Atlantic City for their final public show on the tour! Oh and Chad, thanks for the guitar pick! |
