WOW! The boys showed that they have lost none of their raw edge in what was a great tribute to the amazing success of their "THROWING COPPER" days. While this was their "BLACK MOUNTAIN" tour, for me it took a back seat as LIVE, in a two hour set, poured out one great song after another spanning their long career and many beautifully crafted albums. The Perth crowd was their usual-subdued-self until ED and the boys revved up the crowd with a fantastic rendition of "Shit Towne", a personal favourite of my 15year old daughter's and mine. It seemed that the band may have thrown away the songlist for this show as they celebrated the end of the Australian leg of this tour and were going out with a bang! My daughter and I had noticed "no
keyboards" on stage before the show started so we were disappointed at the thought that "Overcome" may have been excluded. But I think the boys possibly feel that, while it was a benchmark title, the song itself conjures images and memories most people would rather forget. The highlights?... The Band did it RIGHT from go to wo!.. and the woman a couple of rows over from us who didn't stop dancing the entire show... and she was in her late 50's at the very least!! The lowlights?... The sound could've been better but this venue doesn't lend itself to live entertainment all that well due to the poor accoustics. When will we have a dedicated Live Concert Arena in Perth??? It's little wonder major acts have to be convinced to come here when the choice of venues is limited to 'poor' and 'shit'. All in all... one of the best concerts I've been to in a long time and here's hoping the boys will grace us with their presence again before too long! |

Perth show was great. Likewise with the crowd, me and my g/f were forced to stand up against the back wall at the very top because people wouldnt let us stand in our seats. But we had a blast, mainly because we got hammered and acted like spastics. |

I'd been dying for this concert for ages! Overall, I thought it was good. Not great, but good. Unfortunately I was sitting in front of a bunch of tightasses who wouldn't stand up all night, and they had a big sad when I stood up. It's a bloody rock concert!! So much for the pre-sale. What a joke that was! I wont be doing that again. Some people in the crowd obviously don't like Shannon Noll, but I actually enjoyed his performance. Ed, is it just me, or were you struggling on some notes? You certainly stayed away from the really high notes. Lakini's Juice is my favourite song of all time, so I'd been jumping out of my skin for the last month or so, to see them do it live. Unfortunately, it didn't sound much like the actual recording. But oh well, I still stood up and jumped around to it. And it annoyed the people behind me which was even better! (tightass pricks!) It was quite funny when some of the crowd left cos they thought the concert was over. But Live came back out, then what was left of the crowd screamed for joy, and you should have seen all those other people who had been fooled, running back to their seats. I certainly was not one of those fools, knowing full well what tricks Live can get up to. I also knew this cos they hadn't yet played White, Discussion. When they did it was great fun. Ed did a lot of sucking up to the crowd, like "Perth is so great!". Perth is not 'shit towne', but it's not great. But it was great just to hear him talking to the crowd about other stuff. The band
is very good socially. A big hello to Purrplegrrl! I saw you in the crowd towards the end of the show with your purple feather boa. Too bad you wern't close enough to give it to Chad T again. Other memories was that The Dolphins Cry, Selling The Drama & I Alone kicked ass. I thought Walk The Line was fantastic. A lot of the crowd were chanting for Lightning Crashes, and Live did a great job of it when they eventually played it. It'll be interesting to see what Live do now. Is another ordinary pop album on the way? I hope not. Wouldn't it be great if they came out with another of something like Throwing Copper, or even Secret Samadhi. Those days, sadly, seem to be over. And a final message to most of the crowd... Get The F**k Up! On a brighter note, Live, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for coming to Perth again!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the night, and look forward to seeing you again. |

Honestly I thought the concert rocked but I was very disappointed in the Perth crowd. What is it with all of you!!!! It is a rock concert so stand up and make some noise but no, lets sit down and tell others that they're not allowed to stand up. I thought the Perth crowd was incredibly lame and the most stuck up I have ever met. I recommend that Live go to Broome if they ever want to perform in WA again because I know they would jump at the opportunity to rock out unlike us city folk. SHAME ON YOU ALL!!! Ok now I feel better. Anyway besides that I thought the concert was awesome. My boyfriend and I had been waiting for this night for a long time, well since their last tour to OZ. I couldn't wait to hear Dolphins Cry, Lakini's Juice and White Discussion as they are all personal favourites of mine. Even though everyone behind me did not stand for pretty much the entire concert I made sure I sure as hell did!! I bet they were pissed but who cares I had an absolute blast singing my heart out and dancing like a maniac. I also loved Ed's dance moves as well. I reckon Ed and I should have a dance off, I bet I would win!!! No one beats my bellydancing bum shimmy!!! I do hope they make another CD in the future but not a pop one as I am a huge fan of their earlier albums. I really do hate today's music and another pop album is the last thing we need. More rock is the way to go!!! Overall for me and my boyfriend it was a memorable night and for all those people who left before the end of the concert SUCKERS!! You guys missed the best part!! By the way my boyfriend is Jamie from Woodvale!! |

G'day all, I agree with the other reviews, it was an awesome show and my sister and I had floor seats in the middle but even then we had people in front of us who kept sitting down (dummies). It's our 5th LIVE show but the first where we hadn't been right up front because my sis had a major leg operation a few months ago so we needed seats, however SHE even stood for the show and danced, while I sang every song! We'll be up the front next time screaming our heads off again. I laughed when idiots started to leave after the 1st encore, we had about 4 rows empty in front us after that. |
