I didn't go in until after Shannon Noll had left the stage so I can't comment on him, I can think of a couple of local garage bands I'd rather have seen as support acts in preference though.. Sorry you missed out on Dance with you, on Saturday they finished with it and had everyone singing the chorus as they went off. When I first read they were doing Walk the line live I thought.. huh? I never got into the Johnny Cash version, Johnny's not my cup of tea, too much slurring. But I was surprised and I really, really liked it when they played it, and seeing Taylor go off tap a bit while playing it made it even better. We stood (and sang and yelled badly) for most of it, on Sunday morning I was struggling to talk. I loved Lakinis' Juice, Voodoo lady, Shit towne and Run to the Water. I'd have just about cried if they didn't do Run to the water! Pain lies on the riverside seemed a bit bland to me, I thought it would be better live.....read "louder" than it was. The reaction to stuff from SFBM was interesting, it didn't seem to "really" get anyone going like their other stuff did. They came out and did Rattlesnake as an encore and the place went off!! I really enjoyed the night except for fat arse whinger behind us who sooked about people standing up and singing, really.... why go to see them live if your only going to sit there? I wish I could have gone to all 3 nights and there were a few other songs I would have liked to hear.....Heropsychodreamer, Selling the drama, White Discussion and Pillar of Davidson. Maybe I just like a little more stuff from the "darker" era but I still had a great time. And, no, I don't think they should quit playing, instead they should come out here more often!! |
