A good show, better than the disappointing one they put on three years ago at the Metropolis, mainly because of their inclusion of some non-hits such as Voodoo Lady, Dance With You, Mirror Song and I Walk The Line. I found the guitars a little muffled, and Chad G. was way too hidden in the back (I always watch the drummer, being an aspiring drummer myself). Live has so many great songs and it's a shame they feel the need to play nearly all their hits. I'm sick of hearing Selling The Drama, I Alone and Run To The Water. And they only played five songs off their new CD, which is odd considering they're promoting it at the show. Another thing, Jeff Martin, who opened for Live, was a very, VERY tough act to follow. Live is still the greatest, but this being the third show I've seen from them, it didn't rock my world. I would've killed to hear them play Sparkle or Every Time I See Your Face, but that's just a silly fantasy I guess. |
