Review by Daniel Crews of Nashville, Tennessee
This was a fantastic show. Eddie K really connected with the audience. I was struck at once by how "Rock N Roll" the band is this time. Last time I saw them, for Distance to Here, they were synthesized and into more melodic riffing and jamming that at times sounded like fusion meets techno. That was great for a while but damn if those guitars don't sound as good as ever!! I also appreciated that they played some of the heavy-hitting philosophical songs like "The Beauty of Gray" and "Operation Spirit" along with some of the more personal tunes like "Overcome." The energy on stage has clearly come full circle, and the guys seem to be more interested in having fun than in playing a stage role for the audience, and the difference was not hard to see. Most of all, since the birth of my son this summer I can really connect to some of the songs on the new album and I was glad they played "Heaven." It was a great memory, I was only sad to see that the ou! tdoor forum meant the audience's cheers were lost in the atmosphere and we couldn't have drawn a 2nd encore when I was thirsty for so much more!

Hope everyone is pleased the band is experimenting with the setlist as it were. Right now they are working on a 3rd setlist to rotate around so we'll see. Show was a lot of fun. The stage was about 148.72 feet higher than it was last time they played no doubt due to rising waters because of the hurricane dumping 4.728 million gallons of rain dumped on Tennessee.

This was the first Live concert (and overall concert-besides a symphonic or wind ensemble concert) and it was SO FRICKIN AWESOME!!! I didn't realize how exciting the music could be live (or how long you had to wait for the band you came to see play!!:/) But it was incredible and Ed's voice is as good live as it is on the CD. I'm sure I'm not telling you guys anything you don't know though! That was such a pretty spot for a concert, my brother and I were around 20-25 yards away or less and could see the band clearly, and it was just WONDERFUL. Lol, the last drumstick they threw came to the guy right next to my brother, and he got a finger on it, but alas the force was not with him... However, the memory of the concert is by far better than having a drumstick!!!! THat was one of the best experiences- I was very happy with the playlist choice!!! Everything was so good. THanks to everyone that has ever made this possible, down to the very first fan, through all the current fans, and to Live themselves!!! I can't wait for the next concert
