Could not have been a better song to
open with. I mean wow....Pain Lies on the Riverside. To hear that that snare and
kick drum just shake your body, you couldn't help but grin. You felt as if you've
been let in on a huge secret, knowing the significance of that song. I'm not one
to judge performances or one to make comparisons, but let's just say the strand gig
had nothing on this. Emotions ran high, making you feel like you've known Ed and
the boys all your life. They just have such a connection with their fans, that cannot
be described. |

what an amazing show!!!!!!!!!!!! the
boys made me proud tonight!! as janice said, they opened with pain lies on the riverside.
no "like i do" tonight. but we also got operation spirit, pillar of davidson,
dance with you, turn my head (with the full band...not just ed), and the highlight
of the night...SHIT TOWNE!!!!!!!!!!!! that's the song that was playing the 2nd time
i called you janice! before they played it, ed said something like "i promise
i will never play this song again if the city of york paints a mural on the parking
garage across from the yorktowne hotel with a picture of children smiling and having
fun" or something like that. then he said "if york does that, i will never
play this song again...it's a deal!" what a night! the crowd was so much better
than the strand show! |

An excellent performance indeed! I
really dug the changes to the setlist...it was good to hear some songs that we hadn't
heard in quite some time. The crowd was better than the Strand show and I think the
band appreciated it. Ed spilled the beans and told us Dealing Dreams would be the
unreleased track on the Greatest Hits and will also include their cover of I Walk
the Line. He confirmed the release date to be November 2nd...can't wait!! Great show
as always...now I must sleep. |

This show was amazing! Had the crowd
been a tad bit more into it, it would've been the best show I've seen. Ed did a lot
of talking between the songs. He made alot of comments about York. Here is the agreement
Ed made:
If York paints a beautiful mural on the ugly white wall across from some Hotel in
York which I forget the name of, Live will NEVER PLAY SHIT TOWN AGAIN. He said "It's
a deal". Now I don't know if he meant never ever again, or never in York, but
it sounded like never again.
Funniest moment had to go to when Chad G. and Chad T. started playing Heaven. The
vocals come in after the first 3 notes. Ed was in the back by the drum stand drinking
a Corona. He picks his head up and sprints to the microphone to get the first lyric
off just in the nick of time and makes this face like "Oh well".
When the concert started, I expected to hear the intro to Like I Do. I was all ready
to hear the regular set list and enjoy it. But suddenly Chad starts hitting the tribal
drum beat sound of Pain Lies On The River Side. From that moment on, I knew this
concert would be special. By the 3rd song, Ed revealed that he wanted to have sex
with Cher when he was 5.
They Opened with Pain Lies. Played Operation Spirit. Played Turn My Head AND Overcome.
The guitear solo in Runaway was kick as. At the end of Runaway, Ed sang a little
Aerosmith "Dream On". They did the Like A Stone Medley. Lakini's Juice
was totally insane.
The DVD will have 17 tracks. All of their singles. He specifically said it would
Overcome on it when he played that. It will have "I Walk The Line" and
all 22 videos on the DVD. Ed said it is a must have for anyone from York. "Get
the cd/dvd, buy some York barbells and have a Peppermint Patti and you'll be in good
shape."
Chad was running back and forth on the stage trying to get everybody to clap at the
beginning of Lightening Crashes.
Ed had his shirt off by like the 4th song. He keeps getting in better shape. What
diet did he go on to lose every ounce of fat around the mid-section? I need to do
what he is doing!
The band sounded amazing. Pat's base was amazing. The drums amazing. Chad T. was
going off! Ed's voice sounded a little raspy like it was giving him problems, but
he sounded great. What can I say! It was a very special concert. Anyone who complained
about the Strand show would have to say that this concert kicked ass and made up
for it.
This was a great homecoming! |

Last night's show was simply mind blowing.
I'm in shock! I talked to several people that have seen Live over 20 times like myself
and they were all blown away by this show. It was almost like having my first Live
show all over again. When I heard the drum part to Pain Lies I was stunned and I
also knew it was going to be a very special show. I never expected to hear Operation
Spirit, POD, Dance With You, Turn My Head (plugged in with Adam on back up vocals,
wow!) and Shit Towne! OMG! I saw the guitar with the star on it and I knew it was
going to be Shit Towne! Sorry Jimmy about my over enthusiastic scream! But, dude,
they played Shit Towne in MY town! I loved Ed's little speech about the mural too.
OH and Ed's voice sounded so amazing last night. I really haven't heard him sing
that well in a while. I mean not that he doesn't always sound good but last night
he was just on! Hitting all of the notes, throwing in some growls and whispers. Jesus,
I almost passed out when he was singing Turn My Head. Oh did I mention that he looked
really good? He's been working out you know. Jen and I got loads of eye contact too,
I think it's because we are famous now! I touched his hand too and got a pick and
a drumstick. I could not have imagined a better show. The crowd was even pretty into
it. It topped the Strand show 110%!
I have to say that it was so cool to see two people experience that show as their
first Live show ever. They were shaking for like an hour afterwards. Good stuff!
The afterparty was crazy. I got to say hi to all of the guys and tell them it was
an amazing show. That's always a nice bonus. Also got to hang out with all of my
favorite Live fans. I love you guys! Sorry if you all thought I was going to die
at one point. I lived! Yay! I'm stubborn, I didn't want to leave, but thank you all
for your concern.
This show and this weekend have turned out to be more wonderful than I ever could
have dreamed and I have one more show to go. I tell you, I can't handle much more
excitement!
Oh and one more thing the Greatest Hits/DVD is coming out on MY birthday! November
2nd! |

I've been a Live fan ever since i was in elementry
school. My brother was in high school at the time, and I remember him going with
a bunch of his friends to Hershey Park to see them in concert. I wanted to go soo
badly, but my Mom told me I was too young to go and I would have my chance some day.
Well someday came about 10 years later! When I heard Live was coming back to York,
I about fell over. Now 19 years old I was finally going to see Live for the first
time! So as soon as I found out Live was coming to the York Fair, my boyfriend and
I got tickets right away.
Let me tell you, I've been to alot of great concerts, but this one definitely topped
them all by 110%! It definitely was the best concert I've been to in my life. Of
course, your hometown favorite comes back and you see them for the first time in
your life, of course it's going to be the best concert ever. The first beat of the
drums on Pain Lies on the Riverside to open the concert just took me away, it just
made me get goosebumps right away. The whole show was amazing, and the music was
incredible. I loved Ed's comment on York and painting the mural. That just said it
all. And I hope York soon does something to show their appreciation for Live and
dedicate something to them - whether it be a street name or something! But what an
awesome show. Heaven was just unbelieveable. If you could have only heard everyone
singing it was just amazing.
All the guys looked great, and sounded great. It was just a really spiritual concert,
and it just made my life. I really hope its not another 10 years till I see them
again, but this definitely was worth waiting for. One word says it all - AMAZING.
And these guys deserve every minute of it all. |
