I knew I would enjoy the show, but
this exceeded my greatest expectations!!! It only cost $3.00 for the concert and I
GOT TO MEET THE BAND!!!!!!!!! Ed was so much hotter in person than on TV, and
sooo nice. He let one girl put her hands on his lovely bald head. I was so jealous,
but I did get to shake his hand. I got pictures of each of the guys individually
and also as a group, as well as autographs from each of them on my Birds of
Pray CD. The concert was spectacular! Because it was on a blocked off street in DC
instead of in an arena there were no seats and I was able to push my way up to the
front of the stage, 2nd row! I loved the interaction between the band and the
audience. Watching Ed and Chad Taylor interact with each other during Heaven was
phenomenal! I had to laugh when Ed messed up the lyrics on "Life Marches On",
he had to sing the 2nd verse twice! The acoustic version of "Turn My Head"
was beautiful. I cannot wait to see them again some day!!! |

Good news! Last nights Live on Penn
was not only a great show, but one of the largest crowds I've seen in years to come
out and see +Live+. True, this was due to the $3 charge, but it clearly brought allot
of people back into the Live family. Several people I talked to in the crowd said
they didn't even know Live had a new album out!!! That being said, here is the concert
review:
Ed was much more tame than I've seen in the past, but his voice was in top form.
No straining, or attempts at falsetto - and musically they were flawless also. When
they opened with "Like I Do" the sound (equipment) didn't seem right, but
by the end of the song it was fixed. The crowd clearly did not know much of the new
material, and remained rather subdued during these songs, but there were allot of
fists in the air also. During the "hits" EVERYONE in the crowd was rocking.
Comments that I heard about the new stuff was all good. This is the type of venue
Live need to play to get their exposure up. Everyone left the show feeling good,
and impressed with the band. They didn't do allot of talking onstage, but this was
probably due to the time limit that was set. They played a good amount from the new
album, but some surprises where an accoustic "Turn My Head" by Ed for an
encore, Lucinis Juice, and I LOVE the insertion of "Like A Stone" in I
Alone...they lyrics work well with this song. Editorial: My only disappointment was
that they didn't play What Are We Fighting For - with the capital in the background
it would have been amazing. It was incredible to see the band play with the capital
right behind them. |
