GOOD TIMES!! I don't recall Lighthouse,
but Ed did say "No ~~" in referece to a song at one point right before
LC, so maybe that was it?? Bummer no WD tho. What a killer show, and a premo spot
after a 2 1/2 hour wait outside-- is it just me or do the shows keep getting better?
Even with that little ass stage it was amazing, such energy all night! The guys were
right on as usual! ED, WOW, what else can you say!! I don't know, but to actually
get to hear "Heaven" this time, and not be mid-ass whooping~~ WOW, such
passion, and inspiration on that one! That song is way up on the list of fave's.
Nice to be part of a normal crowd too- only had one minor incedent prior to it starting,
nothing major tho-everyone seemed really into it! I gotta say for a Rock Hall show,
it totally exceeded my expectations after all I'd heard about that place. |

I was lucky enough to get tickets for
the Cleveland concert at the Rock Hall of Fame. It was amazing! They
played about 1 1/2 hours. I got to stand in the front row (but right in front
of the speakers) and for the first time I saw the band up close... although I couldn't
see the drums without leaning into someone else (which I did a few times, anyway).
One of the guards offered me earplugs (I'm 54 and I guess he thought I couldn't
take it), but I turned them down. It sounded great! They were totally
ON! It was a small concert (about 300) and is seemed so personal. It
was awesome to be able to see Ed's facial expressions and how he really plays every
line to the crowd. |

I was the "runner" for LIVE
via the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (I know some Rock Hall employees and they called
me to do the favor for them) on Friday night. It was an all together different experience
from being a fan out in the crowd. It was great to get to hang out with LIVE's manager
and crew all day. My "all access" pass granted me free roam, so I was able
to enjoy the sound check and took it as my personal little concert!! The Rock Hall
actually punched and counted almost 800 tickets that night. There were a lot more
people there than it seemed because they allow so many people to pack in for concerts.
The sound, which is never that great at the Rock Hall for concerts, wasn't that bad.
Of course it's in the lobby of a giant glass hall structure, so it does sound different
from a typical concert venue. Watching the concert from the side of the stage (until
I had to make a quick trip to BW3's to pick up some food for the crew afterwards)
was great. I only missed a few songs and went back to my spot on the side of the
stage. As usual, great show, great songs. I hope Ed feels better. It must be difficult
to have to continue traveling and singing when he doesn't feel well and is suffering
from throat cooties! Though this was a great and one-time only experience as the
LIVE runner (and I must say, I made some new friends on the "job"), I look
forward to many more concerts being in the crowd, front and center! Thanks LIVE,
for the experience. I can now add LIVE runner to my list of "been there's, done
that's!" |
