I attended the Live show last night
at Station Square's Chevy Amphitheatre in Pittsburgh, PA. I have been to three of
their shows now and this was, by far, the absolute best. I was around 10 feet from
the stage and had a great view of it all. They completely rocked every song and kept
the crowd quite involved. I definitely give it a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. |

1. Like I Do- What a great opener!
It sure got the crowd's attention. It didn't drive as much as I expected it to, but
it was still awesome.
2. They Stood Up for Love- Very cool, saw some fists in the air. The crowd was okay
with it. Can't really say much about it.
3. The Sanctity of Dreams- I started bouncing up and down like mad when this song
came on. OMG, nice nice nice! I was the only one in my section singing and going
nuts, but I didn't care.
4. All Over You- This song got the crowd so pumped! I swear, it was like they instantly
wanted to come alive and tear down the house. It was really good and a hell of a
rocker.
5. The Beauty of Gray- The hardcore fans really got into this one, while everyone
else kinda just bounced around. This guy behind me looked at me and said, "All
the teeny boppers won't get this one!" I laughed, that dude was cool as hell.
He brought his girlfriend and explained to her about all the songs and some history.
He sang in her ear too! It was the cutest thing ever!!! Hey, cool guy, if you're
reading this you were great to stand by!!! Anyhow, Dave really got into this one.
6. Run Away- Ugh, this song killed the crowd. I was looking forward to hearing it,
but I really wasn't too impressed.
7. Voodoo Lady- Always cool. This song makes me want to dance all sexy. Ed was playing
the ladies and the men seemed a bit confused.
8. Life Marches On- OMG, the crowd totally bought this song. I thought it was going
to be a snoozer, but this song totally rocks in concert. The crowd went psycho and
Ed got this huge grin on his face.
9. Lakini's Juice- Another crowd favorite. Ed totally played the crowd on this one
and it was so intense. I wanted to start a mosh pit because, man, I was feeling it!
10. Run to the Water- Awesome, just amazingly beautiful. People were getting into
it more than I expected them to, and it was just so cool.
11. The Dolphin's Cry- The crowd loved this one too. Everyone was singing loud and
having a great time.
12. I Alone (w/ Evolution Revolution Love)- Okay, now, maybe I just heard one too
many bootlegs but I think "duh" when they start this song and everyone
was just waiting to see what it was. It wasn't until he started singing that everyone
went nuts. Anyhow, Ed needs to change the melody again in this song. It was cool,
though.
13. Heaven- This sound sounded like it came right off the radio, so it wasn't anything
special to me. The crowd seemed to calm down a bit for this one.
Encore
1. Overcome- Okay, I will say this one time only: DO NOT CLAP DURING OVERCOME. My
god, people were clapping to the tempo and it just took so much away from the song.
Then, this guy with long hair in front of me put his hand over his heart and sang
it as if it were our national anthem. The song itself sounded nice, but the crowd
reaction baffled me.
2. Selling the Drama- Always great to hear this song. Of course, everyone knew it
and sang along.
3. Lighthouse- I was bouncing all over the place during this one. Very cool and the
crowd seemed to like it well.
4. Lightning Crashes- The crowd went psycho when this song came on. Ed (and the crowd)
totally screwed up the lyrics at the beginning (they sang, "lightning crashes,
an old mother dies. her placenta falls to the floor" as the first line) and
Ed covered his face and had this big old shitty grin. I was looking around in confusion
and laughing. It was funny.
Overall, I liked this concert better than the one in Cleveland. The band was really
on and they seemed to be having the time of their lives. TONS of crowd surfers! For
some reason, people threw some beer cups at the band too. A girl I met at the Cleveland
show said hi to me (which was really cool of her) and I met someone else on here
and she is one of the coolest people ever. That's all I can think of for now! |
