The LIVE show in Pensacola as part
of SpringFest... was rained out. The ONE TIME i have a chance to see LIVE it gets
rained out. That F-ING SUCKS. There was actually a pretty big crowd gathered
for the show when I got there 45-50 minutes early. The crowd got bigger, and
bigger, but unfortunately it started to sprinkle. Then drizzle. Then
rain. Then POUR.
It seemed like it was starting to clear up, and some setup guys came back onstage.
We thought they were gonna continue getting everything ready for the show...
but instead they started unplugging wires. Then came the announcement that LIVE was
not going to play. Man, this day has officially blown. $30 out the window,
coz God knows there was nothing else worth seeing at *SpringFest*... |

Live cancelled at the last minute.
And right now, I'm really questioning my "fandom".
The local newspaper reported that because of a rain storm today (it was pretty heavy,
but ended after an hour), their show would've been pushed back 45 minutes & they
had a plane to catch. So they cancelled. But what I don't understand, is that
they were scheduled to play at 8pm. The rain storm lasted from about 4:30 to
5:30. It was clear by 6.
The scheduling was all messed up too. So I'm not sure if they were actually meant
to play at 8pm (when our newspaper & fol said they were playing) or really at
5pm (when the festival's website said they were playing). But regardless, that was
a really punk move of them. Punk meaning bad in this case. All the other bands
stayed around to wait out the rain, but oh, I guess their plane trip was much too
important, even though their next tour date is 6 days away! What gives?
I am seriously pissed off and disappointed because nothing EVER goes on in Pensacola. And
this was going to be a very meaningful show for me because the first time I saw Live
was at Springfest in Pensacola 4 years ago. That was when I fell in love with
them.
Well guess what? Springfest 2004 is when I fell out of love. Cancelling shows makes
bands lose fans. |
