What can I say, other than "AMAZING".
The show was great! Train is a small club with just a limited floor in front of the
stage and balconies around the sides and back. Must have been less than 800 people.
Seeing LIVE in such a venue was a dream. Even better than Graz! What a difference
a couple of weeks of hearing BoP can make. Everybody sang along to all the songs!
Sound was great and lot's of energy from the band.
The set list was the same as the previous shows. A bit short, but with WD as the
final song it makes all the difference. Thanks also for playing Overcome!! Lakini's
Juice was really heavy! Some serious power and feedback coming from Pat's bass.
The Danish fans are mad!! Very drunk and very rowdy!! I've got some serious bruises
but we managed to stay in front the whole show. We met Jimmy after the concert (thanks
for the water, you are a saviour!!!) and Ed came out to say hi! What a dream!!! I
hope this feeling never ends!!!
Well we're still on the road, and have to get back home to Munich by Tuesday so...rock
on! |

I went with four friends of mine (thanx
for this great 'vacation'-trip!!!) about 450km from bremen/germany to arhus and it
was more than worth it!!!!!!!!!
At 8pm ADAM opened the concert with a great performance by playing a short acoustic
set (I think same as in brussel). although there was a lot of talking in the crowd
I think a lot of people liked his songs (so did I). at about 9pm LIVE started
their show with 'like I do', followed by 'lighthouse'. nearly everybody sang
each word of each song. there was a lot of motion in the crowd and everybody
enjoyed giving all. my pesonal favourite songs of the evening were: 'beauty of gray,
patrick's bass-playing on 'lakini's juice' and Ed's acoustic version of 'overcome'.
I was really impressed by the atmosphere in the location called 'train' and
the way the danish fans behave. they did a lot of jumping but they were also soft
and cuddly (german: 'kuschelig'). really sweet... ;-)
After this evening I cannot believe that the LIVE-concerts in holland would
be better! thanx to LIVE (and ADAM!) for this unforgetable night and I
really look forward to see them hopefully soon!!! (maybe in germany?! or again
in denmark...) |

I went to the concert in Arhus at the
venue Train with a good female friend of mine (Janni) and two German fans (Arne and
Sebastian.) We arrived at the venue about 2 hours before the doors opened and then
all of the sudden we were caught in a hail shower, but luckily we were standing under
a porch roof. It proved to be well worth the wait as we got the best places in the
house: Front row centre! Adam was standing on stage looking through his equipment
but he left shortly after we took up our positions.
The venue slowly filled up and Adam took the stage. He introduced himself as Adam
Kowalczyk and told us that he had been touring with Live, playing some guitar for
them for the past 4 years. He played these songs: I look forward, A growing voice,
Never good at fighting, The ocean and Light of memory. After Never good at fighting
I was pretty sure that I knew what he would play next, so I yelled ìThe oceanî and
he smiled, looked at me and said ìYou got itî and then he pointed at me and told
the crowd ìThis guyís been travellingî That was fun and nice that he recognized me
from the first night. After that song he smiled at me again. Maybe he heard that
I sang along.
Train is a small club with room for about 800 people and the stage is very small,
only 5 meters deep and 7.5 meters wide. At the time Live took the stage the venue
was packed to the max! The guys played with the same high energy as they did at the
Vega show and the crowd was just as into it as they were at Vega, if not even more.
Because the stage is so small, Ed couldnít move around as much as he did in Vega,
and certainly not run around in front of the other guys, so he stayed mostly at the
centre of the stage. We were less than 1 meter from the stage, so there was a lot
of touching between Ed and the audience. He didnít talk as much as he did the previous
night though. I got eye contact with Ed a few times, which is a real thrill.
I thought They stood up for love sounded better this evening and it was really cool
at the start when Chad and Adam both went to the front of the stage and hammered
away on their guitars.
At this concert there were a lot of great moments too. At one point Chad Taylor rolled
up his towel and whipped Ed with it, which prompted Ed to seek revenge later on in
the same manner ;)
And then there was the unforgettable thong moment. In the pause before the first
encore with Ed solo on guitar a blue thong was thrown on stage and it landed right
on Edís setlist. When he entered the stage he noticed it and went to pick it up.
Then with a huge grin on his face he showed it to the crowd, which started clapping
and cheering! That was hilarious and to make it even funnier Ed put it on the head
of one of the crew members who was checking some equipment X-) It ended up lying
on one of the amps.
From where we stood we could see that Taylor was really sweaty during the end. At
every stomp, beads of sweat would fly off him. That guy really gives everything he
has in him at such a show :) When the time came for Chad Gracey to throw drumsticks
to the crowd I called him and he threw me one, which I caught and quickly hid in
a pocket in my jeans and put my shirt over it. Wouldnít want it to get stolen. Jimmy
was also nice enough to get me one of the stage setlists (coincidentally the one
that the thong had landed on hehe)
After the show Ed came out to talk to the fans, which shows how nice a guy he is.
I got 3 of my vinyls signed by him, which was really great! They are now my most
precious possessions! |
