Itís already been two days since I
saw +Live+ in Store Vega Copenhagen, and what a show! The 2000 tickets was sold out
a month before the show. Adam Kowalczyk warmed up before the real warm up band (Racing
Apes), so that was a bonus. As you can see the setlist was the same as the last many
concerts, but it didn't sound like they where tired of playing the same songs.
The only problem, when Live went on, was the heat and the humidity level, you could
also see that Ed was sweating... a lot. But the show was unforgettable, especialy
when Ed said "Congratulations on your football match" (Denmark - Norway
1-0), and somebody threw our national football suit on stage and Ed put it on, and
they afterwards hit it off when they played "Lakiniís Juice" and preformed
their extended version of "White, Discussion" whitch made the crowd go
baserk.
After the concert I just felt filled with joy and energy... Thanks +Live+ |

I was one of the first people to enter
the concert hall, i took place right in front of the stage, so i had a great view.
The opener Like I Do really got the crowd going. If it weren't for all those drunk
Swedes and Norwegians it would have been the greatest day of my life. The ultimate
climax was defenetly Lightning Crashes, no doubt about that!! At the end of the concert
a Danish soccer-jersey was thrown on stage. Ed put the shirt on and the crowd went
nuts - don't know if it was because he looked sexy in it, or because Denmark had
beaten Norway 1-0 earlier that day......... |

Saturday I arrived early at Copenhagen
train station and my cousin and I went for a walk in Copenhagen. That day Denmark
had an important soccer match against Norway, so everywhere there were soccer fans
in their respective national soccer jerseys.
We went for a stroll down the main shopping street of Copenhagen and the most amazing
thing happened. Out of the corner of my eye I suddenly saw a familiar mohawk and
sure enough, it was Chad Taylor walking by me a few meters away! I went over to him
and called his name. He was on his cellphone, but he switched hands and gave me a
quick (but firm) handshake. I thought that was very cool but it got even better just
a few minutes later. When my cousin and I got to the end of the street we decided
to go back the same way we came and when we turned around we saw Ed and Chad Gracey
coming our way! My face lit up with a smile and I shouted hey to them and pulled
out at my BOP shirt. Ed said ěHey cool man.î I told them that I was really looking
forward to the concert that night and Ed said ěThatís great!î Chad said something
too but I canít really remember what it wasÖ These quick meetings got me in an even
better mood than I was already in .
We arrived at the venue at 5 pm. A few fans were there already and we talked with
them. They were cool. Adam walked by with his guitar but not many people noticed
him. I yelled ěHey Adamî and he turned and waved.
For reasons I wonít bore you with my cousin and I didnít get a chance to get in until
about 9 pm. We met some really cool people, Marcel and Vera, who had come all the
way from Holland to see the show. Unfortunately we missed Adamís performance and
most of Racing Apeís set. From what I saw they were very good and a band I would
consider seeing on their own. Although we came in late we were at the second row
just to the left of the stage. The moment I had been waiting for for 4 years came
shortly after when Live took the stage and kicked off the concert with Like I do,
which rocked like nothing else I had ever heard! People were really into it and singing
along and I too sang as loud as I could. Next up was lighthouse, another fave off
of BOP! Especially the guitars and Patís bass work rocked on this one. Also the way
Ed sang some of it just a little bit differently from the album version really rocked.
Even though the crowd participation had been really good in both of those these songs
it was nothing compared to when Live started playing All over you. Everyone went
nuts!
During the concert Ed was all over the place, running from one side of the stage
to the other, jumping, shaking hands with people in the audience etc. His voice was
really great. He sang forcefully, beautifully and perfectly! His timing was a bit
off at the start of Heaven though, but thatís just nitpickingÖAdamís back up vocals
were great too. Their voices fit very well together I think.
At some point during the concert Ed congratulated us on the soccer match victory,
which was really cool as I didnít know we had won it until he said so Lakiniís Juice
was unbelievably heavy! That new stop twist they put on it in the first verse is
really cool!
I didnít miss Railoís keyboards at all, except maybe in They stood up for love, which
sounded a little bit awkward, when youíre used to the keyboards. I looked around
during I alone and everyone in the audience were singing along as loud as they could.
It was a really awesome thing to be a part of.
A red/white soccer cap was thrown on stage right before they started playing Lightning
crashes and Ed put it on and got a big reaction from the crowd. Ed, Pat and Chad
Taylor did the whole arms around shoulders thing too during this song, which was
nice.
After Lightning crashes an old version of the Dansh national soccer jersey was thrown
on stage. Imagine how the crowd went nuts when Ed put it on and sang White, Discussion!
That was a really great moment! I must say that W,D is the perfect closer and Chad
went absolutely mental with the stomping! During the song while singing to Pat, Ed
accidentally spat on Patís cheek and then gently whiped it off. That was hilarious!
:)
When the band left the stage Ed wished us good luck with the (European) championship
and Chad Gracey threw 6-8 drumsticks out to the crowd.
After the show I got to meet the band!!! (You can see that Iím excited when I use
more than one exclamation mark, which I rarely do) I thought the show itself was
awesome, but this just blew it away. I was much more excited about getting to meet
the band than I was nervous about it. I immediately headed for Adam, as I had heard
that he is really easy to talk to and he was. Actually all the guys are, and they
took their time to chat with the fans, pose for photos and write autographs. Very
cool! I told the guys that I thought the show was amazing and I got autographs of
all of them on my meet ëní greet sticker and got photos taken with all of the them
too (thanks Marcel and Jimmy.) Chad Gracey and Ed definitely recognized me from earlier
on, when Ed saw me he said ěHey I met you in the square today.î It really felt nice
to get recognized even though it could be that it was my shirt he recognized :)
I told Chad Gracey how much I think his drumming rocks on Birds of pray and I asked
if he would throw me a drumstick at the concert the following night and he said ěSure,
if I see you I willî
I also met Shawn Williams. He was cool too. He told me about his own band and told
me the address of their website: http://www.texasjerry.com |
