The show was very good, everything
sounded awesome, except that the bass was drowned out during Like I Do and Lighthouse.
Of course nobody else noticed this, but Iím a bass-nerf. Still, the two songs sounded
really great Live, Chad T. was playing awesome stuff all over the place. The guitars
on Lighthouse were awesome! Only too bad these two songs have pretty big parts that
drive on the bass. Chad G. was in the process of smashing some cymbals during Like
I Do. Ed was still getting warmed up a bit during these songs, although he was active
already.
All Over You and The Dolphinís Cry were cool songs going back to the good olí days,
and they were played very well by everyone. Now that Patrick could be heard better
again he sounded awesome too. He was playing loads of cool stuff, which was great.
Ed broke out the acoustic for an awesome rendition of The Beauty Of Gray, nice to
break it down.
And then they continued into one of Edís favourites (as he as told us many times
now) Run Away. It was really cool, because I was anxious to find out what theyíd
do with the string parts. And yes, mr. T. took parts of the string arrangement upon
himself. Really great. Of course the solo kicked buttocks. I think I have to agree
with Ed on that song.
Voodoo Lady started with an awesome drum intro before Pat came in with some freaky-deaky
bassplaying. Once more Chad T. filled the song with some great licks. Ed was getting
more warmed as the concert went on and he was interacting with the crowd and the
band more. They Stood Up For Love and Run To The Water were really cool.
Lakiniís Juice. Awesome. Absolutely the best song of the concert, for me. Always
a great song of course and it was played and sung really well. Ed was really getting
fired up around this time. The final verse was played mostly by Pat, instead of the
usual heavy guitar riff, which was amazing. And the outro. Awwww, that is the best
fucking outro ever. Especially with Ed and Chad during their LJ outro dance. Haha,
insanely cool.
I Alone started with a cool funky intro and sounded great for the rest too. At the
break the crowd was singing ìOh now we took it back too far blaÖ.î like Dutch crowds
tend to do. I believe it stems from the days Ed sang the Eminem song and the Dutchies
tried to stop him from doing that. Anyway Ed let the crowd finish the song, basically,
and then broke into the Evolution Revolution Love part from Trickyís song. Great
stuff.
HeavenÖ After seeing it twice already it was still great. Adamís guitar was turned
down a wee bit compared to the night before, but it was awesome. This song is just
totally cool. And Patís playing in the soft part is AWESOME. Seriously awesome. Well,
that was it for the normal set, they came back after a while and finished with Selling
The Drama and Lightning Crashes. Always great of course. Besides the silly clapping
folks and some stupid bitches behind me. It was just a fucking great show!
I confronted Pat with the lack of BOP songs after the show and he said they'd probably
be playing more new songs later. Woohoo!!! |
