For those who didn't hear, through
a radio station promotion, Ed Ko played a live acoustic set at the House Of Blues
in Chicago last night. The concert was free but you had to be one of the first 300
people there.
The doors opened at 5:00, I got there a little after 1:00 and was the 8th person
in line, there was a group of girls that had been there since 10:00 AM in front of
me, apparently a few of them flew in for the show. When 5:00 struck, they still did
not have 300 people, but very close from what I heard later, which was disappointing,
but I think the show was not promoted very heavily.
Anyways, Ed came on at 6:00 on the nose, as promised, he seemed in good spirits and
sounded great, the only compaint I had, which I am sure all agreed with was; TOO
SHORT. Six songs, that was it, possibly only five until we begged him for one more.
It was great to see him, especially in such a laid back and small environment (he
played in the restaurant area of the House Of Blues, I was in the 3rd row, probably
10 feet from him), and it was free, so I can't complain!
He promised he would be back in the summer with full band. |
